Effects of bicarbonate/lactate-buffered neutral peritoneal dialysis fluids on angiogenesis-related proteins in patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis

چکیده
Abstract Background In order to facilitate the safe and long-term delivery of peritoneal dialysis (PD), it is necessary improve biocompatibility fluids (PDFs). The novel bicarbonate/lactate-buffered neutral PDFs (B/L-PDFs) are expected be improved biocompatible. This study evaluated B/L-PDFs by analysis on profile angiogenesis-related proteins in drained dialysate patients undergoing PD. Methods Concentrations 20 were semi-quantitatively determined using a RayBio® Human Angiogenesis Antibody Array compared between conventional lactate-buffered (L-PDFs). Results expression growth-related oncogene (GRO α/β/γ), which belongs CXC chemokine family, decreased significantly after use L-PDFs ( P = 0.03). number with lower level was negatively correlated PD duration (Spearman ρ − 0.81, 0.004). Conclusion suggested that more biocompatible than PDFs.

Cytotoxic Glucose Degradation Products in Fluids for Peritoneal Dialysis
During the standard heat sterilization process of the lactate–buffered peritoneal dialysis solutions, glucose (an osmotic active substance) degrades to form compounds called glucose degradation products which are cytotoxic and affect the survival of the peritoneal membrane. This case presentation is based on an observation of 224 aseptic peritonitis cases of unknown etiology. For the purpose of...

متن کاملImpact of Environmental Particulate Matter and Peritoneal Dialysis-related Infection in Patients Undergoing Peritoneal Dialysis
In patients undergoing peritoneal dialysis (PD), PD-related infection is a major cause of PD failure and hospital admission. Good air quality is required when dialysate exchange or exit site wound care is performed. To our knowledge, investigation of air pollution as a factor for PD-related infection in patients undergoing dialysis is limited. This study aimed to assess the effect of environmen...
متن کاملAngiogenesis in peritoneal dialysis.
Long-term exposure to peritoneal dialysis fluid induces morphological alterations, including angiogenesis, leading to a loss of ultrafiltration (UF) capacity. We discuss the effect of different factors in peritoneal dialysis (PD) on angiogenesis. In addition, we describe the process of angiogenesis and the possible role of different cell types in the peritoneum upon PD contributing to new blood...
